How to Measure a Garment

Choose a garment that you already own and that fits you well and mimics the type of item you wish to purchase, i.e. Tops, Dress, etc.  Lay it flat and measure across the front. Compare your findings with your item's measurements.

Measure the entire length of the inner leg, from top to ankle.

Measure flat across the garment's front, just under the arms.

Measure the narrowest part of the garment. For pants and skirts: Measure the top of the garment.

Measure the widest part
of a garment (below the waistline).

For dresses & tops: Measure from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the garment. For pants & skirts: Measure from the waist to the bottom of the garment.

1. Bust - Wrap a measuring tape around the fullest part of your breasts, making sure to keep the tape parallel to the ground. This measurement determines your bust size.
2. Waist - Wrap a measuring tape around your natural waistline, making sure to keep the tape parellel to the ground. This determines your waist measurement.
